Gouverneur Audigier

Our workshop is still at the place where Clément Gouverneur founded it in 1878, 66 rue de la République, in Morez, Jura. Each frame is designed and handmade in France by passionate craftsmen, respecting the original know-how, whilst using current and innovative technologies. We work with noble materials such as gold, titanium, leather, in a permanent search for quality, comfort, and elegance.
The company initially specialized in temples, specifically the famous “cordée temple”, made of braided metal wires which was a small revolution at the time. These temples are still used today: it takes between 28 and 35 steps to manufacture them.
From the design to adjustments, Gouverneur Audigier masters all aspects form creation, design, production marketing, to sales.
In 2017, Gouverneur Audigier received from the Ministry of Economy and Finance the « Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant » label, which recognises and promotes excellence of its know-how. Most of our machines are also part of the government inventory for cultural heritage.
